I have always loved the arts — now, and while growing up, my creativity and imagination have allowed me to create unique and one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork. I’ve shared my story about why I decided to become a photographer on this site — please feel free to read it and discover how my family influenced me to follow my dreams.
Prior to founding Betsy’s Photography, I studied at Michigan State University and Hope College, where I earned my B.A. in Business Management and Studio Art (Photography). Not one to skip any art education, I also minored in Art History and French. My education didn’t stop when I graduated, though — I have continued to further my knowledge through attending continuing education seminars and conferences offered by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Detroit Professional Photographers Association (DPPA). I was honored to receive my Master of Photography (2012) and Photographic Craftsman (2010) degrees from PPA.
But enough about me. I can’t wait to meet you, learn about your family, and discover the best way to tell your story through photographs. My goal is for you to enjoy your portraits and images every time you look at them… for your pictures to become treasured, even priceless, family heirlooms!
