Newborn portrait sessions are always so special. I love including the whole family in portraits with a new baby. Even if older siblings aren’t in the mood to smile at the camera, I’m usually able to coax a few precious moments into happening in front of the camera.
Sessions with a new baby tend to take longer, as frequent pauses may be needed for baby’s needs. That’s why I block off a three hour slot for every newborn session — and if we use less time because things go smoothly, no problem.
Smiles are tough to come by with newborns sometimes, so we tend to focus more on timeless wide-eyed expressions, or sneak some sleeping baby pictures.
A newborn session is the perfect time to design an album; as this family did.
