Senior Boy Portrait Session (in the studio)

posted in: Photography | 0

Sometimes my clients contact me looking for something simple and in studio.  Maybe it’s because the yearbook requirements dictate a formal studio setting for the portraits, or maybe it’s just because simple can be easier.  Whatever the reason, I’m always happy to create timeless portraits like the ones we created for this senior boy’s portrait session.  So, without further ado, enjoy these portraits I created for this class of 2018 senior.

I really like how this portrait turned out for G!

Here’s another portrait, this one framed pretty closely. This type of senior portrait looks very sharp, don’t you think?

I typically run through a series of poses when doing studio portraits, changing out chairs and such to create a variety of portraits for my clients. Love how this one turned out!

From the same set of photos, we changed up the pose just a little bit. But it has a very different look. This whole posing thing is my job — to make it go quickly AND to get the photos to look good.

I really like how dramatic this one looks. Definitely contemplative and such. It’d look nice as a black and white portrait too.

You don’t always have to be smiling a full smile for a senior portrait to look good. Sometimes the beginning of a smile, or a half-smile, like this expression, turns out really nicely!

I like the weighty atmosphere in this portrait. Not everyone comes in planning to create “serious” portraits, but I typically capture a few anyways. They are a great addition to a coffeetable album, if you’re more a fan of smiling senior portraits.

And let’s wrap it up with one final smiling senior portrait. I really enjoy creating portraits like these — they may be just in the studio, but these senior portraits are timeless and will look nice in any home!

I’m excited to see which portraits G. and his mom will like best. It’s always interesting to see which of my clients’ favorites end up being my favorites too!
